Profile

I am Sukhjinder Singh, a Technical Lead - CFD/CAE at General Motors. Before GM, I worked as a Senior CFD Engineer at Siemens PLM Software, with a diverse CFD clientele, especially Oil & Gas, Marine & Offshore and Chemical Processing Industry, mentoring engineers to adopt and use CFD effectively. I graduated with a Phd in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. I worked in the High Performance Computational Fluid Dynamics (HPCFD) Lab. with Dr. Danesh Tafti as my dissertation adviser. Topic of my dissertation was investigating sand transport in jet engine components through Large Eddy Simulations and developing new particle wall collision models to predict sand deposition and erosion.

Prior to Virginia Tech, I worked with Praxair as a Research and Development Engineer. I received my Masters in Mechanical Engineering from The State University of New York, Buffalo (2009) and Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India (2007).

My research interests include computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer, large eddy simulations, turbulence modeling, multiphase flows and turbomachinery.
